Google Pigeon Update introduced in July 24,2014 for U.S.English results,the"pigeon Update" is a new algorithm to provide more useful,relevant and accurate local search results that are tied more closely to traditional web search ranking signals.  

Payday Loan Update 

Google announced a targeted algorithm update to take on niches with notoriously spammy results, specifically mentioning payday loans and porn.The update was announced on June 11th, but Matt cutts suggested it would roll out over a 1-2 month period.
